WOW.

Wow.
Have I been gone that long?!
You must have terribly missed me.
Oh dear, oh dear.
I do sincerely apologise!
I've been... er... busy.
Busy.
Yes, that's right.
Busy.

...

BAH.
BEE-ZY.

Who am I kidding?
Y'all know why I've been absent for so long.
YES, yes.
I shall admit. I've been LAZY.
YES, that's right, you got it out of me. I've been too lazy a bum to blog!
You can't exactly blame me. The internet connection at home is just too unbearable! Unbloggable!

All right, all right. Enough of the pitiful excuses.
Now,

Hello. :)
How're you? Have you been good? How is the new year treating you?
Good? Great?
Ah, isn't that lovely? :)

Well, my 2010 has been so far, so good!
If you didn't already know, I've just started college and am in my second week now! (Woo-hoo!)

For those of you who probably know me well enough, you must be wondering, WHY THE HELL is Denise in college SO BLOODY EARLY?
Well, the answer to that lovely question is short and... somewhat sweet. :)

I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA.

Perhaps I'm mad, perhaps I bumped my head in Bali. Who knows, really? All I know is I've started college and am IN college now. Literally.
And I am enjoying every moment of it!

DID YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAVE COMPUTERS FOR EVERYONE TO USE HERE?!
(Have you noticed the jingjang in me already? I'd say it's culture shock. From school to college. It's the transition shock. I'm still getting used to it. But I'm not complaining.)
FREEEEEEE INTERNET.
Free FAST Internet.
Who needs cyber cafes when you have COLLEGE?

Guess I have no other excuse not to blog now, eh? Darnit.

But anyway, I WILL BE BACK to furnish this dusty blog with COLOURS and PHOTOS to humour you (or rather, myself) SOON.

For now, I shall bid you "Adios!" And leave you to meet with my friends who are about to be done with class in a couple minutes or so.

PS: I've missed you oh-so-dearly!

Love,
Dee! :D

We meet again!

Oh my, I'm terribly sorry that I haven't been updating for donkey years!
I've been extremely busy! I know, I know. I shouldn't be giving you all sorts of excuses. I sincerely apologise!

So!

I added a Twitter widget on my blog so that you can still be updated on whatever it is that I'm up to or whatever random nonsense I've got to say.

Twitter is such a lazy blogging convenience I really like. :)

Have a sunny Sunday, everyone!
:)
Love,
D. :)

"It is NONE of MY business!"

Hey, hey!
Just a quick update!

From my previous post, you would know that I was participating in a drama competition that was held yesterday.
Remember that I said that we were just aiming to put on a decent show?
Well, guess what? We didn't manage to put on a decent show at all.

We managed to put on a GREAT show, winning ourselves the THIRD place!
AND!
Our dearest lead actress, Shereen Kaur, bagged herself the BEST PERFORMER award!

A HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE
CONGRATULATIONS to the cast and crew of Neighbours!

Update!

Hellooo, fellow Earthlings and non-Earthlings!

First up, I'd like apologise for being incredibly busy to reply some e-mails (sorry, Kenichi and Yuka!) and also too busy to blog.
So I hope you don't hate me already. I'll make it up to you with a juicy story! ;)

Before that, let's move on to what you could call, old news.

The 2009 ICC Charity Concert!

Some of you may not know this, but I am not an Interactor.
What?
Why was I involved with ICC then?
Ah, good question!

Let's just say, a lil' someone someone who was put in charge of looking for emcees, pulled me aside one day and asked me for a favour since I had; I quote, "contacts".
Bah! Which isn't true, by the way.
Not... entirely. ;P

So, after much skull-cracking, I managed to think of two hosts that I know are very entertaining and two people that would complement each other very well.

Henry Golding and Hunny Madu. =)

Coincidentally, Hunny had just landed herself a spot on the 8TV Quickie, a show that Henry was already hosting along with others.
Ah, it was just like icing on the cake. ;)

Blablabla, fast forward, I got Carrie the hosts and my job was done.

As the concert was around the corner, I offered to help pen the script but Carrie had already assigned the duty to someone else so she told me that she was fine.
But we all know how that turned out. Lol!

ANYWAY.

On the day of the concert, I had to follow Carrie as I couldn't get any other transportation to Sentul so I was at the venue as early as 7 AM, the same time as all the contestants and committee members had to be there!
Mind you, I was only supposed to be there to watch the concert.
But somehow ended up handling everything backstage! Haha!

However, although I was ridiculously busy backstage - walking up and down, calling the contestants, making on-the-spot decisions, answering questions that I didn't know the answers to (because I'm not an Interactor so I didn't know much about the concert) to meeting with terrible, terrible mishaps like getting two big bloody holes in my new dress because it got caught in some bloody wood panel as I was rushing from the hall to cater to the people backstage who kept referring to me for - for whatever,
I must say that I had a bloody brilliant time.
You people were such a delight to work with. =) Good job!

I must say, this year's ICC Charity Concert, themed "The Epiphany", was a major success!
WELL DONE to the Interact Coordinating Committee of 2009! =D
Oh, and I can proudly say that this year's concert went smoothly well too!
*ahem, ahem*
;)

Hunny and Henry did an amazing job; charming the crowd with their bubbly personalities while our guest artists, Caprice and Mia Palencia bedazzled the audience with their music and entertaining performances!
Including the very talented One Buck Short who rocked the entire hall with their rocking presence!

Oh and not forgetting the wonderful crowd that came and supported the concert!

Thank you all for being part of this year's ICC Charity Concert! =D

Oh, oh! ALSO!

CONGRATULATIONS to King's Cross for emerging as the winner(s) of the dance category!
I am so proud of everyone! =D

A huge congratulations to all the other participants too!
You guys and girls were wicked!
WELL DONE!

Here are some photos I took from some of my friends for I was too busy backstage to take any photos.
Let alone WATCH the concert!

Last Saturday, I (finally) met up with darling Lieo Jiun who is (finally) back from Glasgow! Although only for three weeks! =(

So Jee (Lieo Jiun), Rach and I headed over to Amcorp to go
thrift-shopping!
Have I ever told you how much I looove thrifting? =D

I guess it's the fun in rummaging through the junk and the absurd euphoria you feel when you find that one particular piece of priceless gold in the sea of wonderful stinky junk of treasure that nobody wants anymore!
Oooh, how I LOOOVE thrifting! =D

We had oodles of fun dressing up in ridiculous outfits! =D
Our absurd photos would be uploaded as soon as I get them from Jee and Rachel!

After treasure-hunting, we were famished!
So we headed to Jalan Gasing for the famous Ipoh Chicken Rice. And I discovered that we could order kuey teow curry instead of rice! Hahaha! Yum!

Have I ever mentioned that Jee's a poet?
He liked the food so much that he came up with a poem about chicken on the spot!

Ah, Jee.

He's back in Johor now and will be leaving soon to Glasgow! And some time in June, he'd be in Africa, living in a van! How exciting!

To Jee:
Do take care and take it easy on the "Cause of the
X-Ray Eyes
"! ;)

With the old news aside, let's move on to the present!

I have been extremely busy the past and current week working on a very last minute play for a drama competition that will be held THIS Thursday.

As you would have already guessed, we only had a week and a half to rehearse. Right now, we're just adding some final touches here and there. We're just hoping to put on a decent show. =)

However this time, I'm not acting.
I'm actually directing this play.
So I really hope that it just pulls through! Haha.

Wish us luck! =)

Okay, too many words!
Time to go back to watching Desperate Housewives!

Toodles!

Weird

I had one of the weirdest dreams last night.

I dreamt that I was one of the Jonas Brothers.

I think I was Kevin Jonas. Or maybe Nick. Or maybe both. I don't know. I don't even know who's who. All I know was that I was one of them.
And I wore a white suit.

We sang to Frank Sinatra's "Let It Snow!" and it started HAILING. In a freakin' hall.
And I think the people were dancing.
They were very synchronised.

Then, I was suddenly in a studio. As Denise. Or at least I think so.
And I met Clay Aiken.
And we kissed.
I freakin' kissed Clay Aiken.
(Who has a son now. Oh, and is gay)

It felt weird. REALLY weird. Revolting, really. He was a really bad kisser.
At least in my dream he was.
Ugh.

Then somehow I was in a jungle. In a jeep. At the backseat.

And we came across a burger stall.
Yes, a burger stall.
I told the driver to pull over and got out of the car to order.
After making my order, I realised that I couldn't eat it.
I don't eat meat! ('cept fish, but that's beside the point)

So I asked if they could make an egg burger.
But then realised that they weren't McDonald's. And that it wouldn't really be a burger with just bread and egg.

So I cancelled my order.

And woke up.

Would I Lie to You?

Look into my eyes, can't you see they're open wide?
Would I lie to you, baby?
Would I lie to youuuuuuu?

My classmate who sits right beside me hates me.

Don't you know it's true?
Girl there's no-one else but you.
Would I lie to you baby?
Would I lie to youuu? (Oh yeah!)

She really does.

"I'm telling you baby you will never find another girl in this heart of
mineee!
"
"Oh. My. GOD. That song!" she said.
"Yup, Mix FM, right? Haha. It was playing this morning, wasn't it? It's
stuc-"
"I HATE that song!" she burst out.
"WHAT?! WHY? I LOVE this song!" I said, staring straight back at her.
"It's such a STUPID song! I HATE it! Arghhh! Now it's stuck in my head!"
she shouted.
"Oh", I said. "It's stuck in mine too", I cooed and burst out laughing.

I had just arrived in school and settled in my seat comfortably while my classmate, Huey Mint, was busy completing her tuition work beside me. I took out my incomplete work and started writing. Unconsciously, I started humming a song I heard on my way to school, subsequently belting out the chorus. Which, of course, sparked that conversation above.

Now my classmate sends me death threats via sms every now and then, saying,
"OMG. I want 2 KILL u!!! That stupid song is stuck in my head again! I can't do anythg!!!"
Or something like that.

Anyway!

I promise to update you soon on this year's ICC Charity Concert and a lot of other interesting stories which I have yet to tell/explain to everyone.

So keep checking for an update that will be coming sometime this week!

Gotta run!

Have a wonderful Tuesday! =)

I just!

Inspired by a true story that happened a few days ago.

I pace up and down the roadside.
What is taking him so long? He's never this late!
"I'll be there in two minutes!" echoes his words in my head.
Two minutes, my foot!

I kick at the rocks and dry leafs, cursing silently and punching my fists into the air.
Passing cars slow down to look. I stare hard at them.
What?! Never seen an angry girl talk to herself by the side of the road before?!
They give me worried looks and swiftly drive away. Anyone with a brain would know never to provoke a sweaty teenager with a heavy bag who's just a few inches away from your car.

After what felt like hours of torture and agony, he arrives in his car and drives forward cautiously. He opens the door from inside and beams at me like a full moon.
"What took you so long?!" I yell and stomp my foot like a child who has just been deprived of HSM. "Sorry, sorry. Your mum-lah! She kept talking to me on the phone and she just wouldn't hang up. I was so distracted, I left something in the office that I had to walk back up to get it", he recites.
"TWO minutes, you said! TWO!"
"Two minutes what!"
"It has been FIVE minutes!!!'
"Sorry-loh."

"Hmph", I say and get into the car. I drum my fingers on my lap, sitting in complete silence while my father goes on and on about how my mother had been speaking in circles, repeating her words over and over again on the phone. Such irony. I shift uncomfortably in my seat throughout the journey.

Minutes later, as we were stopping at a traffic light, my father suddenly notices my silence and turns to me and asks, "Denise, do you have something to tell me?"
"Erm, no?" I answer. "Why?"
"Did you do something wrong?"
"Er, no..."
"Did you do drugs or someth-"
"WHAT? No!"

I widen my eyes, gapping my mouth at him.
I blink twice and then once more.
Did my father just ask if I was doing drugs???

"What made you ask me these questions, Dad?!"
"I dunno. You- You just fell very silent. And I was wondering why", he replies sheepishly. "And you were very impatient! I figured you had something to tell me."

The change in his facial expression was enough to keep me in stitches until I could feel my blood rushing to my head and my face turning purple.

"Oh. Oh, Dad! I just-"
I burst out laughing again.
I could feel eyes all over me.
I could feel the people in their cars in front, beside and behind us looking at me.
I must look like a tomato. An exploding tomato.

"Well?" my dad asks, back with his half-solemn, half-worried look.
"Dad!"
"Don't say that it is nothi- LOOK AT THAT STUPID MOTORCYCLIST!"

Dad honks at the motorcyclist who had just beaten the traffic light. The motorcyclist thriumphantly rides past and flashes his long, slender finger at him.
Dad shakes his head and then realises that he was speaking to me halfway and continues, "Don't say it's nothing, okay! It is NOT nothing. It is SOMETHING. Something very dangerous!"
"Dad, do you really think that I would do drugs?"
"Who knows?"
"Dad!"
"Well... It just seem like you didn't want to talk to me. It felt like you had something to say."

"Dad!" I giggle. "Why I-"
I giggle even more.

"Well?" he asks again. This time, earnestly.
"Oh, Dad! I just-"
"Yes?"
"I just-"
"Yeaaaah?"
"I- Ahahahahahahahaha!"
"WHAT?!"

"I just need to pee!"
